Definition of the "NA" (Not Attended) Grade
The "NA" (Not Attended) grade is assigned by the course instructor to students who are deemed unsuccessful due to one of the following conditions. The "NA" grade is treated as equivalent to an "FF" grade in Grade Point Average (GPA) calculations:
-
Losing the right to take the final exam due to a failure to fulfill mandatory attendance requirements.
-
Losing the right to take the final exam due to a failure to fulfill the practical requirements of the course.
-
Failing to attend both the midterm and final exams.
Grades Not Included in the Grade Point Average (GPA) The letter grades that are excluded from the GPA calculation are as follows:
-
S (Satisfactory): Awarded to students who successfully complete non-credit courses.
-
U (Unsatisfactory): Awarded to students who fail to fulfill the requirements of non-credit courses.
-
EX (Exempt): Awarded to students who are officially exempted from specific courses in the curriculum.
-
I (Incomplete): Awarded to students who are unable to complete the course requirements by the end of the semester due to a valid excuse accepted by the course instructor. The "I" grade must be converted to a standard letter grade within one week following the deadline for grade submissions for the respective semester. In exceptional cases, this period may be extended, provided the grade is converted before course registrations for the following semester begin. Such special procedures are carried out with the recommendation of the relevant Department Chair and the approval of the Administrative Board. If an "I" grade is not converted to a letter grade within the specified timeframe, it will automatically turn into an "FF" or "U" grade. The official deadlines regarding the "I" grade are announced in the Academic Calendar.
-
W (Withdrawn): Awarded to students who officially withdraw from a course in accordance with the university regulations.
