Language of Instruction
At Alanya University, the language of instruction for undergraduate programs is English, and a one-year intensive English preparatory program is offered. New students are required to take an English Proficiency and Placement Test to determine their level of English. Students who do not pass the exam will be placed according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1, A2, A2+, B1) levels. Students who provide valid test results from internationally recognized English language exams (TOEFL IBT, IELTS, FCE, CAE, Pearson’s PTA) taken within the last two years can directly begin their studies in their faculty. Results of the relevant exams will be provided during the registration process. Students who fail the English Preparatory Program for two consecutive years will be dismissed from Alanya University. Native English speakers can directly start their courses in their faculty. Additionally, students who have completed their high school education in English will be exempt from the English Preparatory School, provided they submit a document confirming that their education was in English.
Language Support for Exchange Students and Staff
Alanya University plans to offer a "Survival Turkish" language course for incoming students and staff during the Orientation Program. As the language of instruction is English, students will easily adapt to their courses; however, for their daily routines, they will receive additional support through the Survival Turkish language course and the buddy system created by the International Relations Office. For incoming staff, language support will be provided through compact courses organized by the department coordinators. For students wishing to learn languages other than English, our Foreign Languages School offers elective courses in German, Spanish, French, and Russian throughout the academic year.
